What is a charter school?
• A school is classified as a charter school when the state has granted a contract to a group or organization to run a school using state funds. The school offers innovative learning opportunities with greater flexibility than traditional public schools. Students are eligible for the same state and federal programs that are available in other school districts.
What is the selection process for KIPP Aspire?
• Students are accepted regardless of background or academic record on a first-come, first-served basis. If more students apply than spaces are available, students are admitted by lottery. Specifically, KIPP Aspire selects from inside Loop 410 and siblings have automatic acceptance.
